on two Indictments for Misdemeanors

Joseph Furmston< no role > of Hanover Street in the Parish Saint Martin
in the Fields in the County of Midlesex Cheasemonger one of the Bail for
the said Defendant in this Cause Maketh Oath and Saith that in the
Month of June last he this Deponent together with one John Furmston< no role >
of Great Wyld Street Cornchandler entered into a Recognizance for the said
Defendats Appearance at the next Session of the Peace to be holden for the
said County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street And this
Deponent further Saith at the then next Session of the Peace did Appearand
plead Not Guilty to the two said Indictments pursuant to the Condition of the
said Recognizance and this Deponent then together with the said John
Furmston Entered into another Recognizance in the Sum of Eighty Pounds
Each for his the said Defendants Appearance at this present Session of the
Peace to take his Tryal on the said two several Indictments And this Deponent
Saith that he hath not seen or heard of the said Defendant at any time
within a Month last past and that he this Deponent together with the said
John Furmston the said Defendants other Bail have made the almost
Diligent Inquiry in Order to find out the said Defendant but hath not been
able so to do And this Deponent further Saith that on his Enquiring at the
House of Mr. Richard Ellis< no role > in Distaffe Lane London where the Defendant
Lodged for Seven or Eight Months last past was there Informed by Mary< no role >
the Wife of the said Richard Ellis that she believed the Defendant was in a
State of Insanity and that he had absconded from and left his Lodgings
about a Month ago and that she had not seen or heard of him since altho-
she had made Diligent Enquiry of his Friends and Acquaintance for that
Purpose or to that Effect which Information this Deponent verily believes
to be true And this Deponent Saith that on Enquiring of Mrs. Martha
Searfe an Acquaintance of the said Defendant was Informed by her that
she had not seen or heard of the said Defendant for a Month last past and that
about that time she saw the said Defendant who Informed her that he was
Disturbed in his Mind and should make away with himself or to that
Effect which Information of the said Martha Searfe< no role > this Deponent
verily believes to be true and this Deponent Saith that from such
Information this Deponent doth verily believe that the said
