Seeming Tractibility & Sivillity to the Customers Engaged Roberts to listen to further Proposals made
by Defts Friends, which was, That they wod. give Roberts the Sum of £80. Providedtheyhe wod. take him
off their hands & provide him with Meat Drink [..] Lodging & Cloaths during his Defts Life And the Fellow
was very ready to engage with Roberts as his Friends advised And Roberts being enduced by his then
present Behaviour & in Respect Roberts had for the Persons who recommended him Agreed to take Deft upon Such
Terms And his (Defts) Friends glad of Such an Opportunity of disposing of him & being determined to make
a Sure Bargain Proposed Roberts's entering into & Executing a Bond to Deft (as Roberts's Information is
though it is rather to be Supposed to Defts Trustees who had the Disposal of him Roberts having no
Duplicate & as the Same is in their Custody) in the Penalty (will Suppose of double the Sum) Conditioned
that Roberts his Extors Etc in Consn. of £80. paid by them shod. find & provide Deft with good & Suffr.
Meat & Wearing Apparel during his Natural Life And it was Conditioned on part of Deft to do & Execute
all the lawfull Commands of Roberts in his Business & to perform Such Services as he shod. think proper
to Order or Employ him or to such or the like Effect And on Such or the like Terms Matters were Settled &
Roberts Executed Such Bond without Deft Executing any Memdum or Agreemt. to Roberts for his Defts performing
his part of the Condition

For Some time after this the Deft behaved very well in his Services to Roberts But for Some time Since
People having instilled Notions into his Head that such Considn. Money was paid Roberts merely for providing for
him during Life without any other Considn. on his part has Encouraged the Fellow in his Idle Disposition [..] back'd
by his own Natural Profligacy [..] & wicked twin of Mind to Abandon himselftoso far as to Commit the most Outragious
Acts of Impudence & Tyranny immaginable not only in refusing to Work or do any thing whatever thats required
of him But publickly to Insult Roberts & the Prosecutrix (in various Instances) in a most open Scandalous
& Insolent Manner.

The present Fact on which this present Indictment is founded (amongst many Others which the
Prosecutrix will inform the Court & Jury but being a Woman of a Timerous Disposition must be Called
on by you to gives her Evidence with as much Calmness & Security as possible) is this
