To the Worshipsfull John Hawkins< no role > Esqr
and the rest of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex at their Quarter Sessions
of the Peace held at Hicks's Hall in and for the said
County

The Humble Petition of Francis Fox< no role > son of John Fox< no role >
of Hanover Street Long Acre in the County aforesaid Staymake

Sheweth


That your Petitioner in and by certain Indentures
of Apprenticeship bearing date on or about the sixteenth day of March
in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty four was
bound Apprentice to Richard Morphew< no role > of Maiden Lane near Covent
Garden Jeweller to learn his Art or Trade and with him after the
manner of an Apprentice to serve from the day of the date of the said
Indenture to the full end and Term of seven years and by the said Indre
the said Richard Morphew< no role > intheconsideration of the sum of thirty five
pounds to him paid did not only Covenant to teach your Petitioner the said
Art or Trade of Jeweller but also to find and provide for your Petitioner
sufficient Meat drink Washing and Lodging for and during the said Tenn

That your Petitioner entered into the service of the said Richard
Morphew
< no role > and faithfully serv'd him as his Apprentice under the said Indenture
untill on or about the end of November or begining of December last past
when the said Richard Morphew< no role > was Arrested and soon afterwards
moved himself by Habeas Corpus into his Majesties Prison of the Fleet
and doth now remain a Prisoner in the Custody of the Warden of the said
Prison charged with three Actions only issued out of the Marshalsea Court
and the total sum swore to in those three Actions amount to no more
than twenty three Pounds seven Shillings and six pence

That Your Petitioner continued in the faith full service and
discharge of his duly as an Apprentice with the said Richard Morphew< no role >
untill the said Richard Morphew< no role > was Arrested and went to Prison
as aforesaid when your Petitioner was obliged to go home to his Parents
and is in manifest danger of receiving no benefit or advantage from the
said Indenture to follow the said business or have any Part of the
consideration money returnd.
