of the Town he Say'd he believed it might in
part and partly from its being so irregularly
built and the want of Air (Mr. Akerman)
he say'd further that in the year 1763. 16. prisoners
dyed within a Month, and as he apprehended
all but two or three of the Gaol Distemper-and that
in the cours of 10. years he had buried 8. or 10. of
his Servants-That he found great difficulty
to prevail on any persons of the Faculty to
attend the prisoners when they were ill
That he remembred the Ventilator's being put
{up in 1755. and that it was talked of at that
time that several of the Workman were taken
ill and that some dyed-
That he had known
2. or 3. Women who came into the Gaol to see
their Husbands and some Children of women
brought to bed in the Gaol who have caught the
Distemper and Dyed.
