I have seen an Order in the Books
made by the Judges and Commissioners
for that Purpose 6 days before the
Session, the that Order was made
before my Time yet the was on and
foundation of it has often come before
the Court & the Occasion was that
the Keeper of Newgate Might have Time
to make out a Perfect Calendar, of
ale Prisoners Committed to New gate
other to be Tryed or disposed of at the
next Session & that no Person Might
escape Justice or be not intilled to his
Deliverance by the detention of any such
Prisoners

Is it the Duty of the Keeper to make
a Calendar of all Prisoners Committed to his
Custody?

Yes.

Was it the Duty before this Order for the
shrits of Middlesex to deliver to the Judges
at the Old Baily a Perfect Calendar of
all the Middlesex Prisoners to be tried
at the Old Baily ?

Yes- I believe it was, if those
Committed to Newgate & to which Gaol
all the other Prisoners Committed from the
Several other Prisons in the County ought
to have been removed to enable the Gaoler
to make at that Calendar- the Sheriffs
of London and Middlesex having not
Jurisdiction over those Gaols

Are Prisoners Committed to New gate from
other Parts of the Kingdon besides London
& Middlesex for paulls Commd. in other
Counties ?

Prisoners are frequently brought to Newgate
