At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the king hold by
Adjournment at East Retford in and for the said County in the first whole week
after the Close of Easter (to wit) on Friday the fourth day of May in the fourth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third now King of Great Britain Etc. And
in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty four Before

Esquires Justices of our said Lord the King assigned to keep the Peace in the
said County and also to hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses
and other Misdemeanours Committed in she said County (one of them
being of the Quorum.)

Pursuant to an Act of Parliament made in the third and fourth Years of the Reign of the
late King William and Queen Mary intilled An Act for the better repairing and
amending the Highways and for setting the Rates of Carriage of Goods, the Majestys
Justices of the Peace at this General Quarter Session assembled have assessed and rated the Prices of Land
Carriage of all Sorts of Goods whatsoever to be brought to any of the Places within this County
hereafter menconed by any Common Waggoner or Carrier from and after the first day of this
Instant May untill the first day of May next ensuring at the Rates and Prices following Vizt.

From London to Worksop Tuxford East Retford Ollerton Blyth Barnby Moor and
Harworth near Bawtrey or any other adjacent Place within this County of the Like
Distance from London at Six shillings and Six pence
by the Hundred and for ev'ry odd Parcel under a Stone Eight
Pence throughout the whole Year and no More

It is Ordered that these Rates by Certifyed to the Lord Mayor of the City of London and to
the respective Clerks of the Peace of the Countys of Middlesex and Surry and Liberty of Westminster
and to the several Mayors and other Cheif Officers of each respective Market Town within this
County to be hung up in some Publick Place to which all Persons may resort for their information
And that no Common Waggoner or Carrier do presume to take above the rates and Prices aforesaid
upon pain to forfeit every offence the Sum of Five Pounds to be Levied by Distress and Sale
of his Goods to the use of the Party Greived in such Manner as the said Act Directs.
