taken before me this 25th. day of
Augt. 1762
Who being upon Oath says that on or about the 12th. of Augt. 1761
he made one Pair of Stone Knee Buckles set in Pinchbeck and
one Stock Buckle of the same kind of Metal, says that he made
them for a Gentleman, who as he has since been informed verily
believes has a place in the six Clerks office, and who was
reccomended to this Informant by Mr. Berwick of Grays Inn
says that a Pair of Buckles now produced resemble the pair of
Buckles which he made as aforesaids says that in the Course
of his Business he never before or since made any Buckles
of his like Pattern, or ever saw any of the same Pattern in
his Life-time and this formt. farther says that the aforesaid
Buckles which he so made being in his opinion too Long
he directed them to be cut off, and that they were afterwards
Sodered with Silver, and farther says that he never saw
a pair of Stone Buckles set in Pinchbeck or Metal before
and that the Buckles now produced appear to have been
cut off and Sodered with Silver in the manner above mentioned
