Middlesex


At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of Our Lord
the King holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks
Hall in Saint John Street in the said County (by Adjournment)
on Friday the Twenty Third day of April 1762. In the Second
Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Third
King of Great Britain Etc. Before Thomas Lane< no role > Esqn. the
Rt. Honoble John Lord Ward Thomas Owens< no role > John Spencer
Colepeper
< no role > Esquires and others their Follows Justices of
Our said Lord the King Assigned to Keep the Peace of Our
said Lord the King within the County aforesaid and also
to hear and determine Divers Felonies Trespasses and
other Middmeanours Committed in the same County.

Where As the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Saint George in the County of Middlesex Exhibited their
Petition and Appeal at this General Quarter Session of the Peace
Settingforth that by a certain Pass of Order under the Hands and
Seals of Two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in the said Petitions
named Bearing date the Eighth day of this Instant April Mary Rice< no role >
mentioned in the said Pass to be the Wife of William Rice< no role > who is now
abroad in foreign parts and two Illegitimate Children born of the
Body of the said Mary Rice< no role > to Wit Abraham Wilkins< no role > aged about two
Years & a Quarter and Henry Wilkins< no role > aged about four Months
were removed from and out of the Parish of Saint Botolph without
Aldgate in the said County as Likely to become Chargeable to the same
To the sd. Parish of Saint George in ye. sd. County as ye. Place of ye. last
Legal Settlement of ye. sd. William Rice< no role > & his sd. Wife Where by the
Petitioners conceive themselves aggrieved Which Appeal coming on
to be heard this Day by Order of this Sessions It is now Ordered that ye. said
Appeal be & ye. same is here by Adjourned unto ye. next Genl. Session of the
Peace to be holden for this County and that ye. benefit of ye. sd. Appeal be
saved unto ye. sd. Appellants in the mean time And the Churchwardens
and Overseers of ye. Poor of ye. sd. Parish of St. Botolph without Aldgate & all
Parties concerned are hereby Ordered & required to Attend ye. County ye. sd. next
Session upon Wednesday ye. Twenty Sixth day of May next by Nine of ye. Court in ye.
forenoon of ye. came day (being ye. Second day of ye. sd, intended next Session) [..]
and Abide ye. Judgment & determination of ye. Court there touching the Premisses.
