WHEREAS Ann Davis< no role > a Child of abt 7 yrs. old
& Thos. Davies< no role > , abt. 5 yrs. old ye grand children
of Thos: Davis< no role > who for some time dwelt in the said Parish of
St Lukes Chealsea being allowed so to do,
by reason of a Certificate bearing Date the twenty Eighth Day of
December 1716 under the Hands and Seals of the Church-wardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Gregories aforesd
attested by Nicolas Rushby< no role > &
Samll Danks< no role > and allowed by W Withers & Gilbert

two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the City of London
ofaccording to the Directions
of the several Acts of Parliament in that behalf made and provided.
Now the said Thos Davis ye Elder is dead & Thos Davies
ye younger ye father of ye sd 2 children is gone for a Sol-
dier & ye mother of ye sd 2 childn, is lately dead & ye sd. 2 children
being reduc'd to great Poverty,lately applied to the pre-
sent Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of
St Lukes Chealsea for Relief,who have refused
to giveany, but say they are willing to receivewhen
evershall be [..] to [..]
And Whereas, upon Complaint of
the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of
Chealsea it appears unto us, two of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for the said County whereof one is of
the Quorum: That the said two children Ann & Thos:
Davis ye grand children of ye Thos. Davis ye elder
is become Chargeable to the
said Parish of St. Lukes Chealsea
These are therefore, in his Majesty's Name, to Command you, or either
of you, forthwith to Remove and Convey the said [..] two Children
Ann Davis< no role > & Thos. Davis< no role >
from the said Parish of St. Lukes Chealsea
to the Parish of St Gregories aforesd.
(that being adjudged by Us, upon Examination ofthe
said
Ann Holland< no role > formerly Davis ye grandmother
taken upon Oath before Us, to be the Place of their last Legal
Settlement) and deliver them to the Church-wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, together with this Precept,
or a true Copy hereof, who are hereby Required to Receive and Provide
for them as their Settled Inhabitants there, until they shall be other-
wise Discharged thereof according to Law: Hereof fail not, at your Peril.
Given under our Hands and Seals, this Nineteenth Day of
Janry and in the Year of our Lord 17 62
