the Poor of the Parish of St. James ,
within the Liberty of Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex : And to
the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of Shenley
in the County of Hertford & to each and
Every of them

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto us,
Two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the
City and Liberty of Westminster , aforesaid (One whereof
being of the Quorum) by the Churchwardens and Over-
seers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. James , That
Thomas< no role > aged Twelve Years John < no role > aged Six Years &
William < no role > and Mary< no role > aged two months Twins Children
of William Hughes< no role > / gone away by Margaret < no role > his late
wife deceased have
lately intruded and come into the said Parish of St. James ,
and are become Chargeable to the same. We
the said Justices, upon Examination of the Premisses upon
Oath, and other Circumstances, do adjudge the same to be
true, and do also adjudge the Place of the last legal Settle-
ment of the said William Hughes< no role > & his Said
four Children to be in the Parish of Shenley
in the County of Hertford

THESE are therefore in his Majesty's Name, to require
you on Sight hereof, to remove and convey the said
Four Children
from and out of your said Parish of St. James , to the said
Parish of Shenley
and them deliver unto the Churchwardens and Over-
seers of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, together
with this our Order, or a true Copy hereof, who are here-
by required to receive and provide for them according to
Law. Given under our Hands and Seals this 21st Day
of November 1761.
