Mary Newman< no role > Spr. hath lodged wth. Arthur Compton< no role > in
the Hampshire Hog yard for abt. 6 weeks before last Xtmas &
ever sinceknew the deced Jane Habden during all the Time
she was there & that she was always in the House like one of
their own FamilyThat last Tuesday Night she came home
she believes Past 11Mary Nelson< no role > was at home before her
That the door was open when the Witness cameThat Arthr.

give the deced a Blow on the right side of her head & she [..]
agt. the [..] End of the DresserCompton took & gave her a Pull by
the Arm & she fell to the ground or her side & roll'd on
her Such & Compton gave her a Kick or the side of the head
but cannt. say on wch. sideshe did not hear [..] or
st [..] a Wordbut she died immediately [..] The Witness took
her up by the Arm & afterwards Compton, & Compton ask'd her to
take a Drinkbut the deced was deadThat Mary Nelson< no role >
took hold of the [..] of Comptons [..] Coat but he said
she was not dead & he went offThinks Compton in Liqr.
but not to say drunkThinks he did not Think to Marr.

in wch. the Hampshire Hog yard is Situate That he never knew
of the death of the deced till the next Morning abt. 8 o'Clock
