The Information of Isaac Croydon< no role > Willm. Groom< no role > & Venner
Harteupp
< no role > taken before me one of his Majesty Justices
of the Peace for the said County

Who being severally on Oath saith and first the Just. Isaac Croydon< no role >
for himself saith that on or about the 30th of March last this Jus
Thomas Sheppard< no role > , Willm. Groom < no role > (& James Hogan< no role > now Deceased
were togt. in a Skitcle Ground in the [..] Yard of The Bevan at
Chelsea in the said County and a dispute arising about a
penny bet the sd. James Hogan< no role > and a person unknown to this
Just. the said Thomas Sheppard< no role > caught hold of the Collar of the
Sd Hogan & demanded of him to Pay the Penny to the sd Person
unknown which the said Hogan refusing to do the sd. Sheppard
kick up the heals of the sd. Hogan & threw him down & upon
the sd. Hogan's getting up the sd. Sheppard again took hold
of his Collar and struck the sd. Hogan on the face upon
which the sd. Hogan Cryed and turning himself Round took
up a Garden Hoe and with the handle Parish it Struck at the sd. Sheppard
but whether it hit the sd. Sheppard or not this Jus can't
tell and the sd. Sheppard pulled the sd. Hoe out of the
hand of the said Hogan and them Hogan ran away and
the said Sheppard Pursued him with the Garden Hoe in his
hand and after the sd. Hogan had ran about ten Yard's he fell down
on his face his heels being then next to Sheppard and the
Said Sheppard when he came up to the sd Hogan who turned
up his face and looked at the sd. Sheppard the sd.
Sheppard with the sd Hoe in both his hands struck the
said Hogan with the Iron part of the said Hod
