The Humble Petition of

Sheweth
That your Petitioner was at the Present Session Nominated to
Serve the Office of Chief Constable within the Hundred of Elthorne
in the said County in the Stead of
John Drinkwater< no role >
That Your Petition would very Willingly take
upon him the Execution of the said Office, but for that he is under
an ill state of health being frequently Afflicted with very severe
and Tedious Fits of the Rhumatism and other disorders which
he is fearful will render him uncapable of his Duty
That there are several Gentlemen of Ability that are his
Neighbours ready to Serve the said Office and such as with Submission
to your Worships Judgement better Qualified in all Respects
than your Petitioner
Your Petr. therefore humbly prays that he
may e Dismissed from the said Office and that any One of the
under written may be Appointed thereto as to your Worships
shall seem meet
I Recommend this Petition and approve of either
of the persons undernamed to be appointed in Stead of Mr. Miles
