William Powel< no role > the above Named Prosecutor Maketh Oath, That James
Newton
< no role > late of Druery lane in the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields in the
said County of Middlesex Cabinetmaker is a material Witness for this Deponent
in this Cause, and without whose Evidence this Deponent cannot, as he is Advised
Safely proceed to the Tryal there of, And this Deponent further Saith that since he
received a Notice from the said Defendant that he intended to take his Tryal on
the said Indictment on the 15th: day of April Instant [..] he hath made diligent inquirey after the said
James Newton< no role > in Order to procure him to give Evidence for this Deponent on
the Tryal of this Cause, And this Deponent Saith that he was informed by
several People in the Neighbourhood that the said James Newton< no role > , had left his
late Dwelling House about three weeks agoe, But could not learn, where the
said James Newton< no role > was gone or Removed to, which information this
Deponent verily believes to be true, And this Deponent further Saith that he
hopes and believes, that he may be Able to find out and procure the said
James Newton< no role > to give Evidence for him in this Cause, at the next [..]
