The Information of Margarett Gosset< no role > Wife of John Glode
Boutemy
< no role > of Warwick Street Golden Square Taylor , taken before
me this 16th. March 1753.

Who being upon Oath says that she was sent for on Thursday the Eighth day of this
Instant March to the Lodgings of Francis Bertelly< no role > , and says that as soon as the got there
the said Francis [..] Bertilly< no role > desired this Informant to Stay with him till he could
get a Servant Maid, That this Informant Staid with him four Nights, That [..] between
Twelve and one of the Clock on Monday Morning last the said Francis Bertilly< no role >
came into this Informant's Room where she was in Bed (the two Rooms adjoyning
together) with only his Shirt on, and asked this Informant if she wod goe into his
Room to Bed to him, to which she replyed do you (meaning the said Bertilly) think
I am a Whore, I thought you knew better, Upon which he said your Husband shall
know nothing of it, Says that thereupon this Informant told him if he wod. not go out
of the Room, she wod. call Somebody, Upon which he threw himself upon her and took
a handkercheife and Tyed Round her Neck and said he would Cut her Throat if she
made a Noise, Says that he afterwards tyed both her arms to her Thighs with two Cords
and forcibly Dragged her out of her own Bed into his, and again said that if she
made a Noise he wod. cut her Throat, And this Informant says that he feloniously
Assaulted her and by force and Violence against her will and Consent had Carnal
Knowledge of her body, and twice afterwards, during the time she was in Bed with
him, which was till between Six and Seven of the Clock the same Morning, when this Informt.
Husband knock at the Door, and Insisted to come into the Room, Says that thereupon the sd.
Bertilly. Jump'dupout of Bed and opened the Door, and went to Bed to this Informant
again before her Husband's face, Says that upon her husband's coming in, this Informant
called to him for his assistance, and shew'd him in what manner she was tyed, and desired
that he wod. Untyed, which he accordingly did.

John Glode Boutemy< no role > being upon Oath Says that between Six and Seven O' Clock on
Monday Morning last he went to the Lodgings of Francis Bertilly< no role > in Princes Street
Cavendish Square in order to Deliver his Child to his wife who was then as a Servant with
the said Francis Bertilly< no role > , Says that he knocked at the Chamber Door and upon it's being opened,
to his very great Surprize, he found his Wife in Bed with the said Francis Bertilly< no role > ,
and her hands tyed down to her Thighs with two Cords which he immediatly Untyed.
