The Voluntary Examination and Confession of William
Bartlett
< no role > taken before me Henry Fielding< no role > Esqr one of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx
this 13th: day of February 1753.

This Examinant Confesseth and Saith that about a Month aged
he together with John Wingrove< no role > and John Watling< no role > did take and
Carry away between three and four hundred Weight of Lead
from Tottenham Church which was affixed on the Top of the
Vestry, and Says that they afterwards took two Horses out of
a field near the aforesaid Church, upon which said Horses,
they Carryed the Lead to one James Robinson< no role > who deals in
old Iron in Church Lane White Chaple , And this Examinant
further Says that about three Weeks agoe he together with
the aforesaid Two Men did break open a Stable about Eleven
of the Clock at Night belonging to one Samuel Richardson< no role > in
the Parish of Edmonton , and take from thence two Sacks,
and one Saddle, and afterwards Went to Edmonton Church
and took away about four hundred and a half weight of
Lead allixed on the Top of the Vestry, and pull it into the
aforesaid Sacks, and threw it upon the Backs of two Horses
which they had taken out of a Field for that purpose, Says
that they afterwards brought it to London and sold it to the
aforesaid James Robinson< no role > And this Examinant Confesseth
and Saith that about a fortnight agoe he together with the
Two before mentioned Persons went to Walthamstow in the
County of Essex to the House of Skinner Esqr: and took
from of the Greenhouse about Two hundred weight of Lead and pull
it upon Two horses which they had taken in a field near the
aforesaid place, and brought it to London and Sold it to
the said James Robinson< no role > And this Examinant further
Says that Last Night about Twelve o'Clock he together with the said
