Deponent has been informed and verily beleives that the abovenamed Ge [..]
Sands otherwise William Smith< no role > otherwise Dawson (who was late Clerk
this Deponent on board his Majestys said Ship the Surprize) is now a
Prisoner in his Majestys goal of New gate And this Deponent saith that
said George Sands< no role > otherwise William Smith< no role > otherwise Dawson entred [..]
board the said Ship on or about the eight day of July One Thousand [..]
Hundred Forty six And acted as Clerk of the said Ship from the Twenty seven
day of January One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty seven till about
the Fifteenth day of June One Thousand Seven Hundred Forty eight
he absented himself and was run on the books of the said Sh [..]
all which time he this Deponent was Commander of the said [..]
this Deponent saith that three or four days before the said Go [..]
otherwise William Smith< no role > otherwise Dawson so absented himself
said Ship as aforesaid he this Deponent having occasion to dise
men from his Majestys said Ship Surprize gave three Navy Ti [..]
abovenamed George Sands< no role > otherwise William Smith< no role > otherw [..]
as Clerk of the said Ship to fill up in order for him this Deponent
of the proper Officers to sign and to be delivered to the said thre [..]
And this Deponent verily beleives that the said George Sands< no role > of [..]
William Smith< no role > otherwise Dawson made out such Ticketts and dispio [..]
of them to his own use And the Reasons for such this Deponents Beleiff
is That the said George Sands< no role > otherwise Smith otherwise Dawson never
brought the above mentioned Tickett to him this Deponent as he ought
to have done) after this Deponent had delivered the same to him, And
that he hath lately seen a Navy Tickett made out for the said George
Sands
