in my Behalf through the perswasion of the Said
ballett the prosecutor gott a warrant for me and the
abovementiond tooks told me he heard my prosecutor
to Say to Hallett what Should heare against me his
replye was any thing when the Saide prosecutor [..] had me
before the Justice tooks came their and persuaded me
to goe to goale and he would the next morning advertise
the prosecutor and hallett for two Rognes I then Laide
down my Case before Mr Brogdon the Justices clerk
who intirely took my part and Said tooks ought to
Be Committed and I discharged But here ever I went
to goale and was from thence Bailed out my Self and
reife went down to tonbridge wells where we gott into
Bread the prosecutor after I was gone Indickted me and
gett a Bench warrant he Sent down to the Saide warrant
by the Baile to the wells under pretence my mother was
a dyeing and desired [..] me to come up forth with to make
an End of the affair the usage I reced from their hands
was that they Insisted on my not Lyeing with my wife
but with them I would not Comply with their purposals
so they took all my Cloaths only my Shirt and then Lockt
us inside in the morning they (Unlocked the door and sett out
at four a Clock in the morning and came to London that night
much harried and Satigned the prosecutor and others
have Sollicited with me Since my Confinement on the
Bare Beards near Six weeks Lyeing thereon to make
it up but I would not consent by reason I knowing
Self Innocent of what is alledged to my Charge and sure
plainly their Intentions was to make a properly ofing
Antient mother-by the proposals they made this &
all other Questions relating to this affair on ready to
take my oath of the Same and has hereunto Sign'd
my name

On the 6-day of Septber 1749
Because the prosecutors and my Baile
could not have their will Swore adebt to my mother of £2-10s-0d
because She should not Appear in my Behalf is now in Custody
