to Newgate he freely confessed the whole Fact acknowleged the
Name John Spruce< no role > Subscribed to the Information to be of his own
Hand Writing & desired Favour in regard he had been drawn in by Mr.
Nicholls who had an Influence over him of such a Nature that it
was not safe for him to refuse her any thing, the Justices Clerk
would have taken his Confession down in Writing & got Bygrave to
have signed it but he refusing to his Hand to any thing
nothing was reduced to writing

Mr. Paterson by his affidt: Says that the Prosecution agt. the Deft is carried on
by order of the Lord Mayor of Aldermen & the tryall putt off at the Defts request

Richd Beale< no role > by his affidt: Says that upon Inquiry after the Defts Bail he is
informed That Kelly is not known by the Neighbours that his house is very little
frequented & little else but lyder & Geneva sold there & that he lately came out of
prison

That Cattrall is not known by any of the Neighbours Except one who Informed
him that Cattralls wife took the house when he was in prison & that he lately come from
theme

That Page is not known by any of his Neighbours Except an old Shoewoman
who being asked who lived in such a house Said One Page who lately kept a Cooks Shop
& now Pretends to be a Surgeon

Cattrall's & Page's houses are reputed houses of bad Characters by their neighbours

Mr. Robinson by his affidt: Swears to the Defts Confession of the Fact before the
Sitting Justice at Guild hall
