To the Worshipfull the Chairman & others his
Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middx At their Genl. Quarter Session [..] of the
Peace for the Said County Assembld.

The Humble Petition & Appeal of
George Jackson< no role > of the Parish of St. Leonard
Shoreditch in the said County Appothecary .

Sheweth


That your Petr. Rents a House of Ten
pounds a Year in Shoreditch in the Said Parish &
has for Some time past been Tax'd & Rated 4½d P Week
to the poor of the Said Parish.

That tho your Petr. Still Continues under
the Same Rent yet he is now Rated Six pence P
Week without knowing any just reason for the
Same, Several of his Neighbours paying the like
Rent being Rated at no More than 2d. or 3d a Week

That as your Petr. humbly Conceives
all Overseers of the poor in their Respective Parishes
are to Make the Rates which are usually approv'd of
by the Inhabitants of the Same and That any
person aggreivd thereby may Appeal to the General
Quarter Session of the Peace.

Your Petr. therefore Believing
himself to be Soaggriev'd as aforesaid Does
now humbly Petition & Appeal to this Honble.
Court for Such Relief in the Premisses as to
your Worships Shall Seem Meet.

19th. October 1737.
