Whereas Complaint hath been made by you the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish ofSt. Paul
Shadwell unto Us whose Hands
and Seals are hereunto set, two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
(whereof one is of the Quorum) for theCountyaforesaid,
ThatElizabeth Esmead< no role > the widow of Robert
Esmead
< no role > and Ann Esmead< no role > her daughter
the Lawfull Isue of the Said Robert Esmead
have
lately intrudedthem Selvesinto your said Parish ofSt. Paul
Shadwell
there to inhabit asParishioners Contrary to the Laws relating to
the Settlement of the Poor, andarethere like to become charge-
able, if not timely prevented: And whereas, upon due Examina-
tion and Enquiry made into the Premises,on Oath and
other Circumstaces
it appears unto Us, and We accordingly adjudge, That the said
Elizabeth Esmead and Ann Esmead are

like to become chargeable unto the said Parish ofSt. Paul
Shadwell and that the last legal Place
of Settlement of the saidElizabeth Esmead and Ann
Esmead her daughteris in the said Parish of
St. Phillip and St. Jacob , in the City of Bristoll
These are therefore in his Majestys Name, to order and require you
the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of
St. Paul Shadwell aforesaid, that you,
or some of you, do forthwith remove and convey the saidElizabeth
Esmead and Ann Esmead
from your said Parish ofSt. Paul
Shadwell to the said Parish ofSt. Phillips
and St. Jacobandthereindeliver
to the Churchwardens and overseers of the Poor there, or some or
one of them, together with this our Warrant, or Order, or a true
Copy hereof; whereby they are likewise required in his Majestys
Name, and by Virtue of the Statutes in Such Case made, forthwith to
receive the saidElizabeth Esmead and Ann
Esmead
into their saidParishand provide forthem
as their own Parishioners Given under our Hands and Seals, the
NinethDay ofMayin the Year of our
Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred andThirty Seven
