him the Said Paul Riley< no role > : he the Said Paul Riley, within the said three
months now Last past that is to Say. or the Twelfth day of May now
last past , at Hampton Wick aforesaid. in his Said Malt house. did mix &
cause to be mixed two or more Parcels of Corn there making into Malt,
Part thereof being of one Wetting & Steeping. & other part thereof being of
a former Wetting & Steeping: the Corn so mixed. amounting in the whole to
One Hundred & forty Seven Bushels: & that the Same were then & there
Mixed So & in Such manner. that the Officer for the Said Duties could
not distinguish one Wetting from the other: and that the Said Corn was
then & there so mixed as aforesaid. before the same had been put on the
Kiln for drying; which is contrary to the Form of the Statute, in Such
case made & provided; whereby the said Paul Riley for every bushel of
the Said Corn so mixed as aforesaid, hath forfeited Five Shillings of Lawfull
English money. amounting in the whole to the Sum of Thirty two pounds
& Fifteen Shillings of like money: And thereupon the Said Mathew Jerry< no role >
who as well for his Paid Majesty as for himself humbly prays the Indgmt.
