To the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor, ofthe Parish of St.
James Clerkenwell in the County of Middlesex And also to
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of St: Martin in the Fields in the said County

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made by you, unto us
whose Hands and Seals are hereunto set, two of his Ma-
jesty's Justices of the Peace (Quorum unus) for theCounty
aforesaid, thatJane Wilks< no role > Wife of Andrew Wilks< no role > and
Jane< no role > therein Daughter Aged about Six Months [..]
lately intrudedthemselvesinto your saidParish of St. James
Clerkenwell there no inhabit asyorParishioner, Contrary to
the Laws relating to the Settlement of the Poor, andarethere
likely to-become chargeable, if not timely prevented And,
whereas, upon due Examination and Enquiry made into the Pre-
misesupon Oath of the said Jane Wilks< no role >
it appears unto us, and we accordingly ad-
judge, That the saidJane Wilks< no role > and her said Child are
likely to become
chargeable, and thattheirlast legal Place of Settlement was in the
Parish of St. Martin in the Fields aforesaid

THESE are therefore, in his Majesty's Name, to Order and
Require you the said, Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
ofthe Parish of St. James Clerkenwell aforesaid, That you, or some of you do
forthwith remove and convey the saidJane Wilks< no role > and her
said Childfrom your saidsaid Parish
to theParish of St. Martins in ye fields ,aforesaid, andthemdeliver
to the Church wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or some, or
one of them, together with this our Warrant or Order, or a true
Copy hereof, whereby they are likewise requir'd, in his Majesty's
Name, and by Virtue of the Statutes in such Case made, forthwith
to receive the saidJane Wilks< no role > and her said Child
into their saidParish of St. Martin in the fields and provide forthem
[..] them own Parishioner Given under our Hands and Seals, the
27thDay ofOctoberAnno Regni Dom,Georgis
Regisnunc Magnae Britanniae, Etc.Decimo Tertio.
