same who gave their Verdict That the said William Gates< no role >
was the pson menconed in the said Order And that
therefore thattheCourt awarded Execucon against the said
William Gates vizt that he should be hanged by the
neck untill he were dead And those are
further to Certifie That at this said prsent General Quarter
Sessions of the peace It did also appear unto or the said Justices by good
& sufficient proof taken upon oath that Henry Best< no role > of the parish of
Enfeild in the Paid. County didandon or about the [..]
day of July 1725 give Informacon upon Oath before two of his that Justices against
thirtieth day of July 1725 endavor to apprehend & secure
the said William Gates< no role > [..] for the said Offence
above specified and in [..] Endeavoring so to apprehand
& Secure him he the said Henry Best< no role > was assaulted by
the said William Gates< no role > & divers other Offenders and had his right Leg broke
and was grievously wounded in his right arm and
other parts of his Body whereby he the Henry Best< no role > hath lost the
Use of his Arm & Leg so broke And It is hereby
further certified that it due also appear unto as at the same Sessions that the said Henry Best< no role > did cause
the said William Gates< no role > to be convicted of the Offence
aboves pwhereof he was attained as aforesaid
And these are further to Certifie Authorize & require by vertue of an Act of Parliam made in the
the said Sheriff of Midr [..] ninth year of his note Maties
Reign Intituled an Act for the more Effectual punishing

wicked & and evil disposed Psons persons going & disguisedin
disguise and doing Injuries and violences to the persons and
properties of his Majesties Subjects and for the more speedy
bringing the Offenders to Justice. These are to authorize
and requrie the sd Sheriff of the County of Midd (that
being the County wherein the Offence whereof the said Wm
Gates
< no role > was attainted as a aforesaid was comitted) to pay unto
the said Henry Best< no role > the Sum of Fifty pounds as by the
said Act is directed & appointed Given under our hands
in Open General Quarter Sessions aforesaid the said
eleventh
said thirteenth day, of July in thetwelfth yar of his the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George by the
Grace of God King of Great Britain & Amongs Diu
