Whereas Francis Goodge< no role > & John Martin< no role > Church wardns .
of the parish of St. Giles in the feilds in this County &
Thomas Steward< no role > a poor child exhibited their
humble peticon unto this Court at this present
Generall Quarter Sessions of the peace holden for this
County on Monday the eleventh day of July instant
settingforth that the Petr. Thomas Steward< no role > was putt
out Apprentice to John Jones< no role > of the parish of St
MaryLebone Cordwinder by the then Churchwardens
of St. Giles the 23d March 1725 And that the sd. Master
has lent the sd. Steward to a Chimney Sweeper who
beats & uses the Petr. Steward in a most barbarous &
cruel manner, But his said Master Jones absconds
from his home, And the Petr. therefore humbly
prayed that the said Thomas Steward< no role > might be
discharged from his said apprentiship, whereupon
It was Ordered by this Court that the said John
Jones should have notice of the said peticon, and
that he & all other persons concerned should attend
this Court on this present saturday the sixteenth day
of July instant at ten of the clock in the forenoon to
shew cause why the Petr. Thomas Steward should
not be discharged from his apprenticehood to the
said Thomas Jones< no role > , Now upon hearing of what
was alledged bythe Petrs. And upon
examinacon into the truth of the premisses Forasmuch
as this Court is satisfyed that the substance of the said
