Upon reading the humble peticon of Francis Brown< no role >
of Laleham in this County Carpenter exhibited unto
this Court settingforth that the Petr. was employed by
Nicholas Bland< no role > Esqr . one of the Justices of peace for
this County to make a Foot way over the broken
arch of Chertsey bridge on Middx side, which the
Petr. hath done and found materialls for the same,
and that his bill for the same amountsfor wch. he
demands six pounds & thirteen Shillings as by the
bill annexed to his said peticon, which is in the words& figuresand figures followingCall(vizt.)

But that the Petr. haveing agreed to take the said piece of
timber at three pounds as charged there will remaine
[..] the Petr. three pounds & thirteen Shillings, And
[..] was to have been paid upon his finishing
[..] way but is not yet paid, And the Petr. therefore
[..] sed that this Court would be pleased to Order him
Paymt. of the sd three pounds & thirteen Shillings, And
that it might be Minuted downe that when the bridge
shall be repaired he may have the said peice of timber
or three pounds in lien thereof, Now upon informacon
given unto this Court by the said Mr. Bland that he did
employ the Petr. to make a Foot way as above menconed who
