[..] Upon reading the humble
peticon of Francis [..] of La [..] in this
County Carpenter exhibited unto this Court
Settingforth that the Petr. was employed by Nicholas
Bland
< no role > Esqr . one of the Justices of peace for this County
to make a Footway over the broken arch of Chertsey
bridge on Middx side, which the Petr. hath done
and found materialls for the same, for which he
demands six pounds & thirteen shillings, as by the
bill annexed to his said peticon, which is in the
words and figures following (vizt.)

scaffolding stuff & carriage0-5-0

But that the Petr. having agreed to take the sd. piece
of timber at three pounds as charged there will
remaine due to the Petr. three pounds and thirteen
Shillings, And that he was to have been paid open
his finishing the said way but is not yet paid, And
the Petr. therefore prayed that this Court would be pleased
to Order him paymt. of the said three pounds & thirteen
shillings And that it might be minuted downe that
when the bridge shall be repaired he may have the sd
