Wee whose hands & Seales are hereunto Sett two of his Maties of the
peace for the Said County of Middx (Quor unus) and inhabiteing in or
neare the Limits of the Parish Church of the Parish of St Giles without
Cripplegate in the said County haveing met together and heard the
Complaint of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the Said
parish of St. Giles without Cripplegate concerning A Bastard
Child born in the Said Parish on the body of Sarah Peter< no role > Single
woman which she hath been lately delivered of and baptised
John Haswell< no role > and hath Since the birth thereof been chargeable
to the said parish & Soe like to continue Doc find upon Examinacon
of the Said Sarah Peter< no role > taken upon Oath That Richard Hasewell< no role >
liveing next Door to Whitechappell prison in the Parish of St Mary
Whitechappell in the said County Labourer did begett on the body
of her the said Sarah Peter< no role > the said Male Bastard Child And
wee doe adjudge the said Richard Haswell< no role > the reprited father
thereof And doe Order & appoint him the said Richard
Haswell
< no role > forthwith upon Notice of this our Order to pay to the
Said Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the parish
of St Giles without Cripplegate or to Some or one of them the Sume
of fourty Shillings of good & lawfull Money of Great Britanie
towards defraying the charge of the said parish of St Giles
without Cripplegate for reliefe of the said Male Bastard
Child for the first four weeks after the birth thereof And
for the charge of her lyeing in As alsoe that he the said Richard
Haswell
< no role > shall weekly & every week afterwards pay unto
the Said Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor or to some or
One of them two shillings & Sixpence towards the reliefe &
Mainteynance of the said Male Bastard child for soe
long time as the said Male bastard child Shall remaine
Chargeable to the said parish and of & from the Charge
thereof at all times hereafter shall save harmless and
indempnifyed the said parish of St Giles without Cripplegate
& forthwith give sufficient security to the said Churchwardens
& Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of St Giles without
Cripplegate for the true Pformance of this Order or to appear
at the next Generall Quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden
for the said County of Middx then & there to abide Such Order
as the Justices of the pence or the more part of them
shall take in that behalfe Given under Our hands and
Seales this 15th day of March Anno Dni 1722
