October instant , Now upon heareing of what was [..]
insisted on by Mr. Baynes of Councell for the petrs. & alsoe
by Mr. Corbett of Councell for the overseers of the poor
of the said Liberty, and upon debate of the matters
in question, It is ordered by this Court that it be
And It is hereby recomended & referred unto his
Maties. Justices of the peace for this County inhabiting
within the Tower Division in the sd County (within
which Division the said Liberty of Northton Folgate
doth lye) or any five of them (Quorum unus) to
assemble & meet together at such times & places as they
shall think fit, and to inspect the poors Rate now
in question, and to examine & consider whether the
petrs. or any & which of them are overcharged
therein, and whether the sd. Rate is equall legall
& just, or whether the same is unequall illegall
& unjust, and in what particulars, And if the petrs.
are unduely charged by the said Rate then to
consider how & in what manner they ought to be
releived, And if the sd. Rate shall appeare to be
unequall illegall & unjust Then to consider of
a proper method for the settleing of a new equall &
just Rate upon the petrs. & other Inhitants of the sd.
Liberty, And for that purpose the overseers of the poor
of the said Liberty are hereby required to attend &
produce the poors Rate now in question before the
said Justices of the peace or any five of them (Quor
unus) at such times & places as they shall appoint,
to the intent that the matters in dispute may be
settled & adjusted, And the said Justices of the peace or
