which being refused, and Mr. Bowyer saying
he would keep the said Proposals, he this
Examt. desired the said proposals again
which being return'd to him accordingly
he went to Newgate to the Said Harris,
and declared to him, that he would be
no longer concern'd with him the said
Harris. Being interrogated whether he
deliver'd the said Proposals at that time
to the said Harris, he confesseth he did
not deliver them but brought them back
with him. That this Examt. sent a Porter
with the said Proposals to the Duke of
Manchester; that the Parter brought
back Two Guineas from His Grace to
this Examt. which Two Guineas he carried
to Harris. Being ak't whether ever he divided
any Share of Mony with Harris, he saith,
he never did divide any mony with the
Said Harris, or receive any gratuity from
him.
