At a Generall Meeting of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middlesex and City and Liberty of Westminster at Hicks hall in St. John Street
in this County on Tuesday the Thirtieth day of Aprill in the Year of our Lord
One thousand seven hundred and Seventeen and in the Third Year of the
Reign of our Soveraign Lord George now King of Great Britain Etc for putting
in execution the severall powers authority's and provisions granted in and by
One Act of Parliament made in the Eighth & Ninth Years of the Reign of his late
Majesty King William the Third Intituled an Act for the Paveing & regulating
the Hay. Market in the Parishes of St. Martin in the fields and St. James
within the Liberty of West minster and for Collecting and Securing the Duties and
Sums of money thereby granted to the Uses intents and purposes there in limitted
and expressed It is mutually concluded agreed upon and Ordered by the Said
Justices that it be and It is hereby recomended and referred unto the Honoble:

< no role > Paul Collins< no role > John Gumley< no role > Charles Greenwood< no role > and Richard Bealing< no role >
Esquires and all other his Majesties Justices of the Peace for this County and City
and Liberty of Westminster inhabiting and resideing in Westminster Liberty aforesaid
or else where within the Weekly Bills of Mortality in the said County or any three
of them to Survey and View the said Market called the Hay Market and to Order
the placing and Setting of Boundary Stones or Posts for the better ascertaining
the limitts and bounds of the said Market. Place according to the direction and
intention of the said Act and to inquire whether the said Hay. Market may not be
Paved in a better manner and for less charge than It hath been for the time past and to
receive proposals for the better paving of the same And it is further concluded agreed
upon and ordered by this Court that one Sufficient Person be chosen and appointed by
the Justices of the Peace of the said County and City and Liberty of Westminster at their
General Meeting to be held at Hickshall aforesaid in Easter Sessions yearly to Collect
gather and receive the several Duties granted by the said Act of Parliament and profits
arising by the said Market and thatEsqr. be and he is hereby
nominated and appointed Treasurer of the moneys to be collected and received by and
for the said several Duties granted by the said Act of Parliament and profits ariseing
by the said Market for this present Year One thousand seven hundred & Seventeen and that
He do accompt for the said Profits according to the direction of the said Act, And that
be and he is hereby chosen and appointed Collector to collect and receive
the several Dutys and profits in and by the said Act granted and arising by the said Market
during soe long time as this Court shall think fit to continue him in the said Imployment
who is hereby Ordered to pay such Money as he shall collect and receive as aforesaid Weekly
to the said Treasurer and that the saidbe allowed for his Pains [..]
trouble in the execution of his said Office for this present Year the Sum of Twenty [..] by
Quarterly Payments out of the Moneys arising by the said Duties and [..]
