To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish
of St Giles without Cripplegate in the said County of Middlx
and to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the
parish of St. Mary Magdalen in old fish Street London

Whereas it appeareth unto us two of his Maties Justices of the
peace for the said County of Middx (quorunns) by the
Complaint of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poore
of the parish of St. Giles without Cripplegate in the said County
That Mary Gillis< no role > wife of Thomas Gillis< no role > with her two
Children Thomas< no role > aged about two years and John< no role > aged about
Tenn months is some into the Said parish endeavouring
to gain a settlement there Contrary to Law and are like
to be agreat charge to the Said parish of St Giles without
Cripplegate (if not speedily prevented) and whereas upon the
Examinacon of the said Mary Gillis< no role > taken upon Oath it
appears unto us the Said two Justices that her Said husband
Thomas Gillis< no role > came from and out of the parish of St
Mary Margdalen in Old fish Street London where he was
bound an apprentice to one Mr. Wornell of the said parish
Cainchairmaker for the Tenn of Seaven yeares and seived
his said Master about four yeares of the said Terrne And
some part of the remainder in her take Maties Service and
that her Said husband hath not gained any legall
Settlement elsewhere Therefore upon the proofe aforesaid Wee
doe judge and deem the last legall Settlement of the Said
Mary Gillis< no role > and her two Children to be in the Said parish
of St. Mary Magdalen in Oldfish Street London

These are therefore in his Maties Noune to charge and Comand
you and every of you forthwith upon Sight hereof so remove
and Convey the Said Mary Gillis< no role > and her two Children
Thomas< no role > and John< no role > from the Said parish of St Giles
without Cripplegate to the Said parish of St Mary Magdalen
in Old fish Street London and deliver them to the Church
wardens and Overseers of the poor there who are hereby
required to provide for them according to Law hereof fail
not Given under our hands and Seales this 4 day of
August Anno Dui 1716 .
