The Humble Petition of Edmund Parkin< no role > of the Parish of St James
Clerkenwell in the County of Middx humbly Presented to this Honourble
Bench

Sheweth
That your Petitioner keeps an Inn in the Parish And
that on or about the First of January last A strange man
and Woman came to your Petitrs: house with a young Child And
enquired for Lodging Which they were Supplied with one Night P
your Petitioner

That the Said ma and Woman went away From your Petitrs: House
unknowne to him or any of his Family and left the Said Child behind
them who hath ever Since been a charge to your Petitioner Who
thereupon Applied himself to the Churchwardens of the Said Parish
to Provide for the [..] same But they Refuse soe to doe Without an order
from this Court.

Your Petitr therefore humbly prays that the
Churchwardens of the said Parish of St James
Clerkenwell may attend this Court some day
this Sessions to shew Cause why they should not
provide for the said Child

And Your Petitr: shall ever pray Etc
