For as much as this Court is informed that a great number of
persons dwelling within this County doe assume upon
themselves to be Drovers of cattle, Badgers, Laders, Kidders,
Carryers, Buyers & Sellers of Corne & graine, butter, [..]
& other dead Victualls, not being there unto licenced & allowed
contrary to the statutes in such case made & provided, to the
great inhanceing of the prices of cattle, corne, graine, butter,
cheese & other dead Victualls, It is therefore thought fit and
Ordered by this Court that the severall high Constables of the
County in their respective Divisions doe forthwith Upon sigh [..]
hereof cause all & Singular the petty Constables within their
respective Divisions to make diligent inquiry and to inform
themselves what persons doe take upon them to be Drovers of
cattle, badgers, Laders, Kidders, Cornechandlers, Carryer [..]
Buyers & sellers of cattle corne & graine, butter, cheese,
fish, capous, hens, geese or any other manner of dead Victuall
whatsoever, within their severall parishes Libertys and
precincts, And that after Such inquiry soe made they
doe certify unto the sd high Constables on or before the

day of October next ensueing the true Christian
names, Sir names, & dwelling places with the ages of all &
every the sd. persons as doe use & exercise any the doeings
aforesaid aswell licenced as unlicenced, And that the sd
high Constables make returns of the certificates of the
sd. petty Constables unto her Maties. Justices of the peace of
this County [..] the next Generall
Quarter Sessions of the peace to be hold for this County [..]
such course may be taken thereupon as is most agree [..]
to law, And hereof the sd high & petty Constables may
not faile as they will answer the contrary at their peril.
