Upon reading the Humble Peticon of John Rost< no role > Exibited unto this [..]
Setting forth that he was Churchwdn of the Hamblet of Poplax & Blackwall
in the psn of Stepney in this County for the Yeare 1706. 1707 & 1708 And
Disbursed Sevl Sums of money in Releiving the Poor of the sd. Hamblet &
other Necessary occasions on Accot. of his said Office And on the 7th. day of
December 1709 made up his Accots before Roger Smith< no role > & Richard
Lestock
< no role > Esqrs. two of her Maties Justice of the Peace for this County
on the Ballance whereof there Remained due to the Petrs. £195..3s..10½d as
appears by the said Accompts made up Signed and allowed under the hands and
Seals of the sd. Justices of the Peace And that the Petr. is not Yet reimbursed
one penny thereof It was therefore prayed by the Petr. that this Court would
order that Mr. Wm.. Chandler< no role > the present Churchwarden of the sd. Hamblet
may forthwith reimburse the Petr. the moneys Remaining due to him as
aforesd. Or that a Rate may be forthwith made for his Reimbursement
Or that the Petr. might [..] be otherwise Releived as to this Court Shall seem
Meet And the Petr. insisting that he had applyed to the sd. Churchwardens to pay
him the moneys due to him on the sd. Ballance who affirmed that he had not
moneys in his hands to pay the sd. Ballance but was in disburse for moneys laid
out for the use of the Inhabitants of the sd. Hamblet in Relacon to his sd. Office
It is ordered by this Court that the present Churchwarden Ovrseers of the
poor & Antient Inhabitants of the said Hamblet who are usually, [..]
making of parish Rates do forthwith proceed to make an Equall and Sufficient
Rate upon all & every the Inhabitants & Occupiecs of Lands Within the said
Hamblet who are rateable to the Releif of the Poor there (Respect being
had to the Sevl abilities of Such Inhabitants) for Reimbursing the Petr. ye
Moneys due to him as aforesaid And that when Such rate Shall be made
they do therewith Attend two of her Maties Justices of the Peace for this
County (Quor Un) Inhabiting in or near the said Hamblet for their approba [..]
and allowance thereof And that after the said rate shall be so approved and
allowed of they do take Effectuall Care for the Speedy Collecting of the moneys
hereby assessed And that they do out of the moneys to be collected on the said Rate
Reimburse and pay or cause to be Reimbursed and Paid unto the Petr. the sd
