WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto Us, whose Hands and
Seals are hereunto set, Two of her Majesties Justices of the
Peace of the sd County of Middx
(Quorum unus) by the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
hamlett of Bethnall Green in the said County, that
Thomas Ellitt< no role > & Martha< no role > his wife having for Some
time as Inmates

latelycome into he said hamlett endeavouring to settle
themselves there, without giving Notice in Writing to the said
Church-Wardens, or Overseers of the Poor, or any one of them of the
House of their abode in the said hamlett according to
the Statute in that Case made and provided; And that the sd Thomas.
Ellitt & Martha his wife & Richard< no role > , Sarah < no role > & John Ellitt< no role > their
Children are
likely to become chargeable to the said hamlett And whereas it appeareth
unto Us the said Justices, upon the Oath of the said Thomas Ellitt

that he was last legally settled in the parish of St James
Clerkenwell in the se County of Middx where he lived as of hired
Servts: for Some years with one Mr Franks at Hookley in the hole
and pticularly about ye Years 1684 & 1685 and since hath
beene only or Lodger or female and never obtained any other Settlemt:

These are therefore in her Majesties Name Straitly to Charge and Com-
mand you, and every of you, forthwith, upon sight hereof, to remove and
convey the said Thomas Ellitt & Martha his wife & Richard Sarah
& John Ellitt their children from yor sd Hamlett of Bethnall
Green unto the pish of St James Clerkenwell aforesaid

and deliver them unto the Church-Wardens, and Overseers of the
Poor there, who are hereby required to provide for them
according to Law: Hereof sail not at your Perils. Given under our Hands
and Seals, the 13th day of March Ano Dui 1702
And in the [..] second Year of the Regine of our Severaig [..]
