John Norman< no role > of the Parish of St Margt : Westn Fishmonger & att
prsent one of the Constables of the said Parish maketh Oath that on
Munday 7th November Last about four of the Clock in the Afternoon
hewas ordered by Tho: Railton< no role > Esqr: one of the Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middx to take same assistance and goe with a
young man whose name he heared since to be one William Minton
whether he should lead him to be assistant to him in case any Violence
or assault should be made upon the Said William Minton< no role > and accordingly
this Depont went takeing with him Mr Hart the said Mr Railten's
Clerk, one William Bedow< no role > & George Butson< no role > his Beadle. and the said
Minton lead them to the George Taverne in Fall Mall where this
Depont and his Sd Assistante were Placed in a Room up one pair of
Staired opposite to the Room where the said Minton Went in telling
this Depont and his Assistanted there to abide untill Such time they
Should be called for or any disturbance made. About two houred
after an Outrey was made in the Room where the said Minton
[..] as it were, for Assistance useing the Ward Westmr.
There upon this Depont and his Assistante went the Room where
the said Minton was & demanded the reason, & the said Mimton
answered that the Gentleman whose name he heared since to be
the Deft Rigby had halfe Draven his Sward upon him and with all told
this Depont he had Unbuttoned and pulld down his breeched upon wth
this Depont Seized the Deft Rigby and told him he must goe with
him before a Justice of Peace and in Goeing along he desired of
this Depont to excuse him untill some other time offering this Depont
a Gratuity for his Cuility which he refused
