This Court takeing notice of the execution done upon one-
Mary Compton< no role > for Starving & murthering sevall infant children
placed with her by sevall publick officers who had the care of
the said Infants to be educated for a sume in grosse, & that due
care hath not been taken by the Churchwardens & Overseers of
the poor of the sevall Pishes Hambletts Libtys & Prcincts in
this County in placeing out infant Children exposed to publick
charity, & which ought carefully to bred up with the monys-
collected & raised in the said respective Pishes Hambletts Libtys.
& prcincts for that use, For prvencon of the like mischiefs
for the future & to the intent that the monys raised for the
purposes aforesaid be rightly applyed Itt is thought filt &
ordered by this court that not Churchwarden or Overseer of
the poor of any parish Hamblett Libty or prcinct for in this
County shall from henceforth place out any Infant Child or-
Children to be educated for any grosse sume nor receive or take
of any pson or psons any groose shine for provision of any
bastard or parish Child or Children without the consent of
two of their Maties Justices of the peace for this County of the
division (Quor. unus) but shall take security for the same by the
week or month, And that the said Churchwardens or
Overees of the poor shall deliver over to their successors all
