up by clapping their Hands and giving three cheers and
Huzzaing, some of them called out "No Keys". meaning
a Man named Keys a Turnkey and also called out the
name of another Turnkey he does not recollect, they also
called out some thing about a free Prison and called
out Murder and about starving alive, I knew some
of the Voices, one was a Man named Sully another
was James Thomas< no role > , another Tanner, Copping and
some others whose Names he knows but cannot
recollect; Davy Edwards< no role > and William Gardiner< no role > he
remembers, these were in cells near him, he was
Allowed to go in the same yard with these Prisoners in
the day time but never heard any conversation
among them respecting any thing has been in the
Gaol only Three Weeks while the Prisoners were
making a Noise on Thursday night, he advised
them to be quiet and some of them Answered him
"go to Hell you Old Buggar," he was talking with
Nicholson who< no role > was Confined with him in the same
Cell, and both were of the say way of thinking in the
Morning when they were not unlocked they thought
it hard to be confined on the Account of the others and
Nicholson agreed to acquaint the Governor what they
heard, told the Turnkeys the first opportunity he had
which was at Three o' Clock, Nicholson told the Turnkey
he should like to see the Governor, to speak with him
in secret, and he afterwards went down with the
Turnkey , they had received their bread in the Morning,
about. 7, o' Clock and at Dinner they had a Pot of broth
which holds more than a Quart, every other Day they
dont have broth they have Six ounces of Meat without
any bone.has no complaint to make of his food or
treatment since he has been in the Gaol since the
Prisoners have become Riotous, they have gone by
Nick Names one is called My Lord. heard several
of the Prisoners to day say that tomorrow was
Sunday and if they did not let them have their
Victuals brought in at two. o' Clock they would begin
hallowing. at the time Nicholson was removed
from his cell some of the Prisoners enquired of
Examinant what has become of him and if he was
gone "to Nose". meaning to tell, the Keepers never
