September 1799.

And Your said Committee further Report
That having Inspected the Book containing an Account
of the Bread delivered at the House of Correction your
Committee recommend it to the Court to make an
Order for Discontinuing any Allowance of Bread to
the Keepers of the Prisons or any of their Servants [..] times and
that in future Bread should be not be delivered at any
of the Prisons but for the use of the Prisoners only.

And Your said Committee further Report
That it appearing to them that the Consumption of
Coals in the House of Correction is at least 50 Chaldrans
Per Year they are of Opinion and that the Coals to the [..] should
be provided by Contract and that an Advertizement
should be inserted in the Public Newspapers for
Persons to deliver in Proposals for that purpose

And Your said Committee further Report
That they directed the Door way and Communication
through the Boundary Wall of the Prison into the
House of Correction now occupied by the Governor on
the East side of the building to be stoped up with
Brickwork under the Direction of the County Surveyor
and that the Iron Guard be taken down and
deposited in the Smiths Shop.

And Your said Committee further Report
That being informed by Mr.. Aris that many of
the Jenn Canns in which the Meat and Broth
are served to the Prisoners are worn out, that the
Cans cost the County One shilling and three pence
each and that a Prisoner now in his Custody
named James Wright< no role > would undertake to make
such Cans for little more than 6d. each your Committee
directed that the said James Wright< no role > should be
employed in that business and that Mr.. Aris
should provide the necessary Materials for that
purpose and your Committee have the Satisfaction
of stating that they have Inspected some of the Cans
made by Wright the Prisoner and that they appear
