January 1799.

attentive during Divine Service, - respecting the London
and Manchester Prisoners charged with Sedition I know
but little of their Conduct

The several Matters contained in my Examination
as entered in this Report are true to the best of my knowledge
recollection and belief

Sworn in Open Court this
24th. day of January 1799.
Hall, Cryer.

both on the Continent and in England and have been
Consulted in my Professional situation in many cases
and after having Examined the House of Correction for
the County of Middlesex I must declare that I have seen
no Prison in which the cleanliness Accommodation and
Comfort of the Prisoner has been so completely attended
to as in this County Prison I have particularly examined
the Cell where I was informed Colonel Despard was Confined

Construction it cant be otherwise, I also examined the
Cell in which Neagle was Confined and the Passage in
which the Soil Tub complained of is placed, there is a
long Passage between Neagles Cell< no role > and where the Soil
Tub is placed with an Open Window at each end of the
Passage and such a thorough current of Air that I
Conceive it impossible for any smell or Nuisance to be
Conveyed from it to Neagles Cell< no role > or any of the Cells
adjoining even if the Tub had been suffered to remain
full which is not the Case as I find the Soil Tub is
emptied twice a Day: - much stress has been laid
as I have been informed on the Prisoners eating in the
Necessary or Privy which there could be no Occasion for
as there is a long Shed or Arcade opposite the Cells Across
