out and Examining Workmens Accounts

Ordered That the same be paid and that the Clerk
of the peace do issue the usual Order for payment of the
same.

Resolved That in future the Sum of £5 Pr. Cent
be allowed to Mr.. Rogers the County Surveyor on
Account of the business to be done by him as Surveyor
to the County.

By adjournment same day.

The following Letter from Dr.. Glasse being laid
before the Court and Read Vizt.

Dr. Sir

I am very sorry that my necessary attendance
on the Anniversary of the Feast of the Sons of the Clergy
renders it impossible for me to appear in my Place at
the Session House this day had I not been prevented
I should have felt it to be my duty to do that which will
be better done by other Magistrates who since the last
Session have favoured the Prison Committee with their
Attendance - some of them I doubt not will acquaint
the Court with certain Irregularities which have taken
place in the New House of Correction in favour of one
Weston, a Prisoner charged with divers Forgeries

The Committee found him attended by an extra Guard
of Officers sent into the Prison on this Service, and
Allowed a great Quantity of Wine every day not less
than 2 Bottles for himself and his Friends contrary
to the Rules and Orders for the due Regulation of the
