April 1787.

And Your Said Committee Further Report That upon
Investigation into the matters contained in the Petition of Henry Adams< no role > This name instance is in set 1591. Contractor for
conveying Vagrants in through and out of this County Your Committee are of Opinion
that he should be allowed the Sum of Eighty Pounds for the extraordinary Trouble
and Expence brought upon him in consequence of the continuance of the increased
number of Vagrants for One year ending April 1786.

All which the Committee Submit Etc Etc

Resolved that the said Report be received and confirmed and that the
clerk of the Peace do forthwith issue the proper Orders upon the Treasurer of this
County for the payment of the several Sums therein mentioned and also the Sum of
Eighty pounds to Henry Adams< no role > This name instance is in set 1591. the Contractor for conveying Vagrants in through and
out of this County as Recommended in the said Report.

Nathaniel Conant< no role > Esquire one of the Members of the Committee
of Accounts having informed the Court that John Harwood< no role > Gentleman Governor
of the House of Correction at Clerkenwell and Samuel Newport< no role > Gentlemam Keeper of
New Prison at Clerkenwell in this County had laid before the said Committee their
Accounts of the Receipts and disbursements for One year ending at this present
Session that there appeared a Balance due to the said John Harwood< no role > of £306.14.3
and that there appeared a a Balance due to the said Samuel Newport< no role > of £242..9..6
that in consequence of the large Amount of the said Balances and the short time
the Committee had to go through their Business they had necessarily been
obliged to postpone the Examination of the said Accounts but that as the Keepers
were pressing for the Balance of the Accounts so due to them as aforesaid he
recommended it to the court to pay them a certain Sum each in part of the said
Ballances.

Resolved that the said John Harwood< no role > and Samuel Newport< no role >
be allowed the Sum of One Hundred and Fifty Pounds each in part of the
Balances due to them as aforesaid and that the Clerk of the Peace do forthwith
issue the proper Orders upon the Treasurer of this County for payment of the
same.
