Mr. Stirling having informed the Court that he had
Received the following Letters from Messrs. Milne & Couse in Answer
to his application to them for their charge for their trouble in valuing
the Ground in Cold Bath Fields
Vizt. New River Head
Novr. 13th.
"Mr. Mylnes most respectful Complts wait on Mr Stirling, and begs
"leave to acquaint him that Mr Mylne has left the matter of the
"Surveys valuation Etc of the Ground near Cold Bath Fields
for the
"Middlesex
House of Correction to the Opinion of Mr. Couse who was
"joined with him in that business, and that whatever Mr. Couse shall
"be pleased to do in that affair, Mr Mylne will most cheerfully
"acquiesce in on his part - Mr. Couse presents his Complt
"to Mr Stirling in answer to the favor of his obliging Note of the 7th.
"Inst, he immediately consulted Mr Mylne, and they beg leave to say
"that in consideration of their trouble at the several Meetings held in
"June & October 1785 with the Measures taken by them & attendances
"with Mr. Gorham that Ten Guineas each will not be an improper
"charge to the Gentlemen the Magistrates of the County of Middlesex
"Scotland Yard
Novr. 11th. 1786."
Resolved unanimously that the Sum of Ten
Guineas each be paid to Messrs. Mylne & Couse for their Trouble in
surveying and valuing the Ground in Cold Bath fields
and that the
Clerk of the Peace do make out of Orders on the Treasurer of this County
for the payment thereof accordingly and transmit the same to the
said Messrs. Mylne and Couse.
