Resolved and Ordered that the same Committee have
leave to sit again and It is hereby referred to them to form
a particular description and an estimate of the expence of
the work which shall appear to be necessary for the immediat [..]
Security and repair of the said Bridge; and to consider what
may best be done for the future case of the County in respect
to the said Bridge as also to enquire to whom the Ayte mention
in their report belongs; whether the same is purchaseable; and
what may be the expence of removing the said Ayte and the
said Committee are required to report what they Shall do in
the premises on the County day of the now next Session of the
Peace to be holden for this County, and they are to meet for the
first time on such day and at such place as James Paine< no role >
Esquire one of the members of the said Committee shall appoint
and afterwards may meet and adjourn at pleasure

By adjournment same day

Mr Eyles the Deputy Clerk of the Peace for this County reported
that pursuant to the directions of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
at their last Sessions, he had diligently attended the progress of a
Bill which had been brought into the House of Commons to expla [..]
and amend the Laws now in being relating to the Transported
and Imprisonment of certain Offenders; that the said Bill at
first tended to throw a very heavy expence on this County but
that he had fortunately procured some alterations to be made
therein in case of the County and particularly the insertion of
the subsequent clause ' Provided always and Be it
further enacted That in consideration of the great and
disproportionate expences which the County of Middlesex
will probably in our, in providing for the temporary
Reception and maintenance of great Numbers of Offenders [..]
aforesaid, it shall and may be lawful for the Commissioners
