And his Majesty's said Justices do hereby further represent to your
Lordship that the said Committee having made their Report containing among
other particulars the Facts abovestated the Justices for this County being assembled
in their General Quarter Session holden by adjournment on Thursday the
fifteenth day of January last at the Guildhall
in King Street Westminster
Did order and resolve that the Court of General Quarter Session should proceed
to the examination of the said Complaints at the hour of eleven in the forenoon
on Thursday the 19th day of February then next being the County day of the
then next Session of the Peace to be holden in and for the said County at the
Guildhall
aforesaid and that he the said
John Gretton< no role >
should have eight
days Notice thereof
And further that on the said 19th day of February about noon being
assembled at the Guildhall
aforesaid and sitting in open Session they proceeded
to the examination abovementioned when the said John Gretton< no role >
appeared
and after objecting that the Court was incompetent to judge of or ensure him
for any Misbehaviour in his Office of a Justices of the Peace withdrew
himself out of Court
Whereupon the Chairman proceeded to the examination viva voce
and upon Oath of Sundry Witnesses in Proof of the Facts abovestated
and particulary [..] the hand writing of the said John Gretton< no role >
to sundry
of the Warrants and Summonses above set forth and the same being
proved to the satisfaction of the Court it was then and there ordered that a
Representation of the misbehaviour of the said John Gretton< no role >
and of his
abuse of his authority in the various Instances abovementioned should be
made to your Lordship And his Majesty's said Justices do therefore in
the method of Address prescribed by ancient and accustomed Usage in
Matters of this Nature make this their Representation and Remonstrance
Submitting the consideration thereof to your Lordships Wisdom and
Judgment.
It was Resolved that this Court do
approve of the said Representation
