Dozen Benches for the Prisoners to sit on, a Table a Table Cloth,
two Napkins and a Chalice for the celebration of the Communion of the
Lords Supper and the same have been procured by the Clerk of the Committee
under an Order; the Committee have agreed that the Keeper of New Prison
for the time being is the proper Person to have the Custody of the said things
and the same have been accordingly deliver'd by the Clerk into his Care and
that all the said things are marked with the words following, vizt. For the use
of the Prison, The Committee are further of Opinion that the Matron of
the House of Correction do wash the Surplice when and as often as the Chaplain
shall require the same. That as to what fund the said things should be purchased
the Committee have deferred the consideration thereof. And the Committee
have also postponed the Consideration of the Referrence made on the County day
of the last Session in respect of the providing proper things for the Celebration of
divine Service at the House of Correction at Clerkenwell .

The Said Committee further Report

That having taken into consideration the Right to the Boundary Walls
of New Prison and the means of accommodating Compromising and determin
-ing the same referred to this Committee by an order of Court of the County day
of the last Session It was proposed that Josh Keeling< no role > Esqr one of His Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for this County be desired to talk with a Mr Friend who
claims a right in the South boundary wall at New prison who being present
and obligingly accepting the Commission it was agreed that the following
instructions should be given to Mr Keeling as the principal Subjects of his
Conversation with Mr Friend vizt. To Consider the Wall as the properly of
the County and to offer to grant a Lease of the same for such term as he may require
2dly. As it is apprehended the Wooden Building belonging to Mr Friend
may be dangerous in case of Fire to part of the Goal and as Mr Friend will
conceive a considerable advantage from the under part of the Wall to desire
he will run up a Brick Wall above the building belonging to the Goal at
his own expence to guard against such Danger. 3rdly as the new Building
in the Goal will step up the light in the building belonging to Mr Nightingale
