9th December 1773

At this Court a Report of the Committee of His Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex and for the City and Liberty of Westminster
appointed on the 21st day of October 1773 to enquire into the Receipt of the Toll
of the Haymarket how the same has been disposed of according to the 8th &
9th of William the 3rd and every thing relative thereto was made and the same
is as follows (Vizt)

Middlesex

To His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middlesex in their General Session of the Peace to be holden on
Thursday the 9th day of Decr 1773 at Hicks Hall in St John's Street in &
for the County Assembled.

The Report of the Committee of His Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for the said County and for the City and Liberty
of Westminster appointed by an order of Session of the twenty first
day of October last to enquire into the Receipt of the Toll of the Hay
Market how the same has been dispos'd of according, to the 8th and 9th of
William the 3rd and every thing relative thereto

The said Committee Report

That the Committee in consequence of the order of Session of the
21st of October last have taken into Consideration the Receipt of the Toll
of the Haymarket & how the same has been disposed of and for that
Purpose have carefully perused the Act of Parliament of the 8th and 9th of
William the 3rd Intitled "An Act for paving and regulating the
"Haymarket in the parishes of Saint Martin in the Fields and Saint
"James within the Liberty of Westminster " and have examin'd the
Entry Books of the Orders of Sessions from the Year 1716 to the
present Time where they find many orders relative thereto (Abstracts
of all which Orders are hereunto annexed from whence the Committee
have collected the following Information, Vizt That in the Year 1729/30
