sufficient Quantity of Ballast to be laid upon the same to prevent any
further Damage This Court doth agree to the said Report and doth Order
that the Thanks of this Court be and they are hereby given to the said
Committee for the same And it appearing unto this Court by a Presentment
of the Grand Jury that the said part of the said Bridge mentioned in the
said Report to be in decay ought to be repaired by the Inhabitants of the
said County This Court doth thereupon desire that the said Committee and
also Vigorous Edwards< no role > Esqr . one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for
the said County (whom this Court doth appoint one of the said Committee) do
meet together at such time and place as they shall think proper and give
Directions to proper Workmen for the immediate repairing of the said part
of the said Bridge according to the said Report.

By adjournment on Thursday the sixth day of April 1758 .

within the Hundred of
Edmonton in the place of
Mr. Benjamin Gage< no role > .

Whereas Benjamin Gage< no role > one of the High Constables of the Hundred of
Edmonton in this County exhibited his humble Petition unto this Court Setting
forth That the Petitioner being elected one of the High Constables of the said
Hundred did on Notice take his Oath for the due Execution of the same and hath
according to the best of his cunning and understanding faithfully executed the
said Office for the Space of two years and upwards which is a longer time
than many of the Petitioners Predecessors have continued in that Office
And that the Petitioner hath us publick money in his hands and the
continuing in the said Office being very inconvenient and prejudicial to the
Petitioner in the Transactions of his Business the Petitioner therefore
humbly desired to be discharged from the said office This Court being
satisfied of the truth of the premises doth appoint Henry Hill< no role > of Hadley
within the said Hundred in this County Gent to be High Countable within
the said Hundred of Edmonton in the place and stead of the said Benjamin
Gage
< no role > and doth Order that the said Henry Hill< no role > do forthwith (after notice of
this Order) attend one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace of this County
residing in or near the said Hundred and take his Oath before such Justices
of the Peace for the due Execution of the said Office of the said Office of
High Constable within the Hundred aforesaid And from and after the time
of his having taken such Oath she said Benjamin Gage< no role > is to stand
absolutely discharged from being High Constable within the said
Hundred.
