By adjournment on Thursday the twenty fourth day day of February 1757 .

Order for Mr. Higgs Trearer
to insure Hicks Hall

It is Ordered by this Court that Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of this County do insure
from Loss by Fire the Sessions House called Hicks Hall in this County in the Sum of
One Thousand Pounds and that he do from time to time pay all such Sum and Sums of
money as shall be necessary for keeping such Policy of Insurance in full force.

By adjournment on Thursday the twenty fourth day of February 1757.

Order for confirming the
Report concerning the
Accounts of Mr. Higgs
Treasurer .

A Report being made unto this Court by Merry Teshmaker< no role > and Francis Bedwell< no role > Esqrs.
two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace of this County that they had inspected perused and
passed the Account of Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of the said County and that by the
Arrears of the preceding Rate and the Rate charged on St. Mary le Strand which had
not been received by Mr. Carne the late High Constable of Westminster Division
but received by Mr. Barnes the present High Constable of that Division and now
accounted for being Eight pounds and fifteen Shillings and with the Twelve hundred
pounds of this present Rate the whole amounted £1259.11s.0d and that it
appeared to the said Justices that the said Treasurer had paid and disbursed out of
the same the Sum of Twelve hundred fourteen pounds fourteen Shillings and Six pence
half penny and that the Ballance remaining in his Hands is forty four pounds
Sixteen Shillings and Sixpence Farthing and that the said Justices are of Opinion
that another Rate should be made for the raising of more money to answer the
Ends and Purposes of passing of Vagrants to pay the Inspectors of the distempered
Cattle for paying for the Bread for the Prisoners in the House of Correction the
keepers of the several Prisons Salaries, the repairing of Goals, the Coroners Fees
for prosecuting of Felows the Paviour of Brentford Bridge and for other
purposes and that the said Justices had inspected the Accounts of the County
Rents of this County since the last audit which was the first day of June 1756
and did find that the Treasurer had received one Years Rent due at Michaelmas
last the Sum of forty two Pounds and of John White< no role > House keeper at Hicks Hall
the Sum of Six Shillings and eight pence for an Acknowledgment of Hicks
Hall making together the Sum of forty two pounds Six Shillings and eight pence
and that he had paid and disbursed thereout the Sum of Twenty eight pounds
three Shillings and six pence and that there remains in his hands to ballance the
Sum of fourteen pounds three Shillings and two pence This Court doth agree
to the said Report and doth ratify and confirm the same and the same is
hereby ratified and confirmed accordingly.
